I remember meeting people for the first time, talking about what music they like, their nerves about writing a song. I remember their faces when they first see and hear the song taking shape and realising they can do this. I remember recording sessions in hospice chapels and people’s excitement at putting studio headphones on for the first time. I remember the excitement of hearing how loved ones reacted to the song. The memories are powerful and often choke me up a bit but they are always full of smiles and laughs too”
