Written by Clive Richard Lord & Al Bampton.

Lyrics

Well I played chess, for my grammar school.
Loved my books, but green issues ruled.
Geography, geology, astronomy too.
I love Brian Cox and the BBC news.

Chorus

My name is Clive Richard Lord
and I invite you all onboard.
The green ship that sails our stormy seas.
Preserving and protecting,
our natural world.
Is the only thing makes sense to me.
Our future comes with no guarantees.

I published a book back in 0 3.
Sustainable growth, makes total sense to me.
A citizens income, is what we need.
I see a world holding hands, with no more greed.

I lived in LILAC, we were trying to sow seeds.
A cooperative housing project, over in Leeds.
Straw-bale walls, triple glazing, a solar panel zone.
I’ll always see LILAC as my spiritual home.

I’m a long serving member of the green party.
Grew from The People in the early the seventies.
I’ve stood for election no less than seven times.
I’m never giving up this dream of mine.
