Lyrics
Bertie in a backpack, Flo wanting to jump in puddles,
Me in Doc Martens making Daddy all of a muddle,
You were both so young and the snow falling meant,
That we didn’t finish our first climb up Pen Y Ghent,
Chorus:
We never took the easy path, always a magical mystery tour
A pack up between us and always leave wanting more.
I love you times infinite recurring, from the top of your head to the tips of your toes,
My heart is always with you, through the highs and the lows.
You are my greatest achievement, my happy little friends,
And don’t forget to go back and climb Great End!
Yellow and Red wellies on a glorious day,
Striding on ahead, You showed us the way,
A big fall in the mud wasn’t part of the plan,
A buff you both wore after climbing Pen Y Fan
The mother mountain and your first Wainwright
We climbed up high in such beautiful light.
The Easter Bunny left you chocolate on the floor
As you scaled up my favourite mountain Skiddaw.
Wales brought the amazing Yr Wyddfa
Up, up we went excited with the adventure
The highest we could go having lots of fun
To marvel at the views from the top of Snowdon.
