This is a song for our beautiful Lyra, the brightest star in our sky.

 

We wanted Lyra’s song to be like a magic spell and for everyone who listens to it to turn into a frog….only joking 😉 we wanted everyone who listens to it to feel inspired to be a bit more Lyra.

 

Being ‘more Lyra’ means being kinder, more compassionate, having an infectious joy and enthusiasm for life, and the creativity and imagination to see the treasure and adventure in everything, no matter how mundane. It means standing up for what’s right, no matter how small you are, and having a curiosity that makes everything fascinating.

 

For us as Lyra’s parents, this song will always be a magical mantra to remind us to be more Lyra when we are aching with her loss. We can hear her voice, feel her beautiful sunshine energy, and feel inspired by Lyra, our greatest teacher.

 

Serving suggestion: Best enjoyed when belted out in the backseat of the car whilst eating rice cakes.

 

We would also like to use this space to raise awareness of Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). HLH is an immune deficiency disorder which affects around 1.2 to 1.5 people per million per year. Our girl was certainly one in a million, but we wish she was not a part of this statistic. Because HLH is so rare, many healthcare providers don’t recognise its symptoms. We would love to change this, and for you to know them too.
